According to reports, “Leonardo DiCaprio” will play the lead in the remake of Another Round, which won the award for Best International Film at the 93rd Oscar Awards, the winners of which were announced yesterday.
Winners of the much-anticipated 93rd Oscar Awards of the film industry were announced yesterday. Another Round, a Danish-made film, received the Oscar for Best International Film, one of the ceremony’s most important awards. The film, directed by Thomas Vinterberg, received an offer from Hollywood. Despite the efforts of Jake Gyllenhaal‘s production company Nine Stories and Elizabeth Banks, Appian Way, the production company of “Leonardo DiCaprio,” purchased all of the film’s rights. DiCaprio is expected to play the lead in the film.
The remake will be executive produced by Thomas Vinterberg, director of the original Another Round, as well as Sisse Graum Jørgensen and Kasper Dissing. Vinterberg co-wrote the original screenplay with Tobias Lindholm. It is unknown whether any changes will be made in the remake screenplay.
The Oscar-winning film starring Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Bo Larsen, Magnus Millang, and Lars Ranthe has the following storyline:
Martin, Tommy, Nikolaj, and Peter—a close-knit group of friends, colleagues, and high school teachers—find themselves in the midst of a midlife crisis, confronted with stale careers, failing marriages, and the cruel certainty of lost youth. Then, after a long, booze-fueled night in town, the companions came up with the idea of staying semi-intoxicated at all times, inspired by an unproven scientific theory claiming that people are more relaxed, poised, and self-confident when they maintain a golden 0.05 percent Blood Alcohol Concentration at all times. So, without further ado, the grizzled pals establish ground rules and begin observing the effects of maintaining that perfect, low-level buzz, one glass at a time. Are they, however, prepared for the dangers and negative psychological effects of the intoxicating social experiment?
All of the productions honored at the 93rd Oscar Awards, held on April 25th, can be found here.
