New cast members of Florian Zeller‘s new film “The Son,” directed by the same man who gave us The Father, which was nominated for six Academy Awards, revealed. Hugh Jackman and Laura Dern to lead ‘The Son.’ The film follows Peter as his busy life with his new girlfriend Emma and their baby is thrown into disarray when his ex-wife Kate (Dern) shows up with their teenage son Nicholas, adapted by Zeller and Christopher Hampton. The adolescent is troubled, distant, and angry, and has been absent from school for months.

The Father, The Son, and The Mother are the three parts of Zeller‘s story trilogy. The first of the trilogy, The Father, recently won two BAFTA awards.

TRT Co-Productions at Sarajevo Film Festival: Forgiveness, Hesitation Wound, Quo Vadis, Aida?

TRT, Turkey’s official broadcaster, will have a prominent position at the 27th Sarajevo Film Festival.



TRT co-produced films stand out at this year’s Sarajevo Film Festival, which kicks off on August 13 in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Danis Tanovic’s Not So Friendly Neighbourhood, a TRT production will open the 27th edition of the festival which will be held which will be held between 13-20 August.

Forgiveness by Cem Ozay and Quo Vadis, Aida? by Jasmila Zbanic, both TRT co-productions, will compete in the festival’s In Focus programme. Another TRT co-production, director Bekir Bulbul’s To Carnations of a Song, will be featured in the Cinelink Work in Progress section of the festival. The festival will also feature Hesitation Wound, directed by Selman Nacar and co-produced by TRT. The festival’s Cinelink Industry Days chose it for the co-production and drama strands.

The Sarajevo Film Festival, the most important film festival in Eastern Europe and the Balkans, will feature five films produced by TRT. The festival, which will kick off with Oscar-winning Bosnian director Danis Tanovic’s TRT production “Not So Friendly Neighborhood,” will feature the best films produced in Eastern Europe and the Balkans in the previous year.

Cinelink will have two projects in the festival’s industry section: “Hesitation Wound,” which earned the TRT Co-Production Award in 12 Punto last June, and “To Carnations of a Song,” which won the TRT Co-Production Award in 12 Punto in 2019.

TRT’s Not So Friendly Neighbourhood will open the festival

Following the opening ceremony of the festival, which began in order to remove the remnants of Bosnian genocide (1992-1995) and to re-establish Sarajevo as a hub of culture and art, Oscar-winning Bosnian director Danis Tanovic’s film “Not So Friendly Neighbourhood” will have world premiere. The TRT-produced film depicts the competition of two of Sarajevo’s top “cevabi” (Sarajevo-style meatballs) chefs who, although having quite different personalities, are friends and neighbors. The film will have its world premiere during the festival on Friday, August.

Oscar-nominated “Quo Vadis Aida?” will be screened in Sarajevo

TRT co-production “Quo Vadis, Aida?”, directed by Jasmila Zbanic and produced by Damir Ibrahimovic, is a co-production of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, Austria, Romania, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, France and Norway. The film, which is about the Srebrenica massacre in 1995, takes place at the United Nations Base during the genocide, when tens of thousands of Bosnians, including women and children, were massacred by Serbian soldiers in the Bosnian city of Srebrenica.

The film had its world premiere in the Main Competition section of the Venice Film Festival in September 2020, competed in the Toronto Film Festival, and received accolades at numerous film festivals. Last October, the film won the Best Film Award in the International Competition at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in Turkey. 93. “Quo Vadis Aida?” was nominated for an Oscar for “Best International Film,” and it was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Director and Best Foreign Language Film.

TRT’s award-winning “Forgiveness” is in “In Focus” programme

Forgiveness, directed by Cem Özay focus on the struggles within the family deepen due to the authoritarian and unjust attitudes of the father, who lives in a forest village and works in lumber trade. Forgiving each other is the only way out of the psychological crisis for members of this family. TRT co-production “Af”, which had its world premiere at the 33rd Tokyo Film Festival, was also supported by the General Directorate of Cinema of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey. The film will compete in the “In Focus” section of the Sarajevo Film Festival.

TRT co-production “Hesitation Wound” and “To Carnations of a Song” are on Cinelink!

The industry section of the festival “Cinelink” will have “Hesitation Wound”, which won the “TRT Co-Production Award” at 12 Punto TRT Script Days held in June this year, and “To Carnations of a Song”, which won the “TRT Co-Production Award” at 12 Punto in 2019.

“Hesitation Wound”, directed and scripted by Selman Nacar and produced by Burak Çevik and Diloy Gülün, was selected for the Co-production Market of Cinelink, the industry section of the festival. The film tells the story of lawyer Nesrin, who must confront her own conscience at the sentencing hearing of a murder suspect she believes is innocent and has been defending for a long time.

“To Carnations of a Song,” co-written by Bekir Bülbül and Büşra Bülbül, directed by Bekir Bülbül, and produced by Halil Kardaş, is in the festival’s industry area, Cinelink, where films in the editing stage compete. The film, which is about the journey of an old refugee Musa and his granddaughter Halime amid terrible climatic conditions and their struggle to survive, was shot over the last few months.

Regé-Jean Page To Star in “The Saint” Reboot

Regé-Jean Page seems to have scored his first significant starring role since his breakout role in the Netflix series Bridgerton, following the news that he would not be returning for the second season.

Regé-Jean Page, the lead role of Bridgerton, the most-watched Netflix series of all time, will star in the remake of the 1997 movie “The Saint“. The script for the iconic 90s action film “The Saint” will be written by Kwame Kwei-Armah.

While story details for this film are being kept under wraps, insiders believe it will be a wholly new perspective that reimagines the character and the world around him. It will be produced by Lorenzo DiBonaventura, Brad Krevoy, and Mark Vahradian.

At this time, it is unknown whether Dexter Fletcher, who is presently directing and executive producing The Offer for Paramount+, would direct this new, reimagined version of The Saint.

Steven Spielberg Adds New Actors To His Childhood Inspired Film

The cast of The Fabelmans is growing.



Four new cast members have been added to Steven Spielberg’s next film to play his family members.

New actors have joined the cast of “The Fabelmans“, which Steven Spielberg will both direct and script. Judd Hirsch, Jeannie Berlin, Robin Bartlett, and Jonathan Hadary have joined the crew.

The film will be inspired by his childhood memories in Arizona, which Spielberg has frequently mentioned as a big inspiration for his filmmaking. It does not yet have an official name, but it is currently known as The Fabelmans.
