Geoff Johns – chair of DC, vetoed the LGBTQ characters, as well as nontraditional characters.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, on David S. Goyer’s Syfy comic book series “Krypton,” the team wanted to create a nontraditional casting. In order to, Regé-Jean Page, which was announced that he exits Bridgerton officially auditioned for the part of Superman’s grandfather before becoming a global celebrity with his breakthrough appearance in Netflix’s “Bridgerton.”

However, the Krypton team’s passionate attempt rejected by Geoff Johns, DC chair. Johns thinks that Superman‘s grandfather should look like the young Henry Cavill.

The other idea rejected by Geoff Johns, was Adam Strange, the gay or bisexual superhero. Although rep of Geoff John says that he is a supportive person about LGBTQ and also has been married to a black woman and after her, an Asian-American, Nadria Tucker, Krypton’s writer reacted to this situation. Tucker told THR about a negative experience with Johns about changing the hairstyle of a black female character.

Krypton” appeared on Syfy for two seasons and twenty episodes. The show was canceled in August of this year.
